Good care starts with the label inside your garment. Use this guide as a practical introduction; the instructions on the specific item always take priority.
Before the first wash
- Read the sewn-in washing and drying instructions.
- Separate light, dark and strongly colored items.
- Check pockets and close zips where the garment label allows.
- Keep delicate pieces away from abrasive fastenings, rough surfaces and overloaded wash drums.
Accolade cotton-blend layers
The Accolade pieces in our current edit use a cotton-and-polyester French terry blend with a smooth outside and soft interior. Follow each item’s care label. Where the label permits machine washing, a cold, gentle cycle with similar colors helps reduce unnecessary wear.
Official care guidance verified for the hoodie, crew neck and straight-leg sweatpant calls for a separate cold gentle wash and a low gentle tumble dry. For the quarter-zip and full-zip pieces, check the garment label rather than assuming identical drying instructions.
Drying & reshaping
Follow the label’s drying method and heat limit. Avoid high heat unless the label specifically permits it. Reshape carefully and do not pull wet fabric to force a different fit. Wash shrinkage and fabric behaviour can vary; washing is not a reliable way to correct the wrong size.
Everyday wear & storage
Friction can change the appearance of a soft fabric over time. Rotate pieces, keep them away from rough bag straps and store only when clean and completely dry. Fold heavier sweatshirts and knit pieces so their weight does not stretch them on a hanger.
Marks, damage & care questions
Treat any mark only with a method appropriate to the garment label. Test a suitable product on a hidden area first, and avoid aggressive rubbing. If you believe an item arrived with a defect, photograph it and contact us before washing or attempting a repair.
